Fred W. Eberle Technical Center Offers Comprehensive Nursing Classes

The Administrative Council of the Fred W. Eberle Technical Center operates the FETC Practical Nursing program in Buckhannon, WV and is accredited by the Council on Occupational Education (COE). Students take part in clinical in hospitals, nursing homes and community agencies throughout North Central West Virginia. A few of these include St. Joseph’s Hospital in Buckhannon, Stonewall Jackson Memorial Hospital in Weston, Crestview Manor in Jane Lew and many others.

Completion of the Practical Nursing Program results in a diploma and graduate nurse pin, and eligibility to take the West Virginia State Board of Examiners for Licensed Practical Nurses licensure exam (NCLEX-PN).

Practical Nursing Program Requirements

The Fred W. Eberle Technical Center Practical Nursing program is for post-secondary students only. Those looking to apply must meet the following requirements:

Prospective high school students should consider taking anatomy, chemistry, physiology, and basic math to fully prepare for FETC practical nursing classes. Students in clinicals will need their own transportation to their clinical site.

How to Apply to the FETC Practical Nursing Program

The Fred W. Eberle Technical Center Practical Nursing program runs from January to December each year, with applications for enrollment accepted from March 1 to August 15. The TEAS is administered in September, interviews are conducted in October, with final class selection by November 1. Nursing classes are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3 pm, and clinicals are 7:30 am to 2:30 pm. Tuition and fees cost about $6,100 and are subject to change.
